David Slayback was the unmarried son of William and Anna Slayback. When William died, he left his farm to his wife, Anna. Anna willed the farm to David, her only unmarried child who did not already have a farm of his own. David's siblings sued for shares of the farm, but the court ruled in Anna's favor and David kept the farm. He was alienated, however, from his siblings after that.
