State Matron Dies On West Coast; Will Have Last Rites Here
Mrs Minnie Prine Slay, 49, wife of Bernice B Slay of 1126 Duncan Avenue, Los Angeles Calif, died at 12:45 pm Sunday after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Los Angeles for the past five years, having moved there from Jackson where she formerly resided for a number of years.
She was a the former Mrs I S Knight, of Hazlehurst. She was born at Wesson and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; one sister, Mrs Ollie Moss, of Sumrall; three brothers, Joe G Prine, Jackson; Thomas R Prine, Crystal Springs and John W Prine of Hattiesburg.
Baldwin Funeral chapel 2 pm with Dr G Norman Price, Parkway Baptist pastor officiating. Interment will be made in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include her nephews George Edward Prine, J C Prine, Esco Gibson, Jack Gibson, Frank Moss and Johnny L Witt.
