Irene Ruth Slanger Died Last Saturday at Choteau Hospital
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Irene Ruth Slanger, who passed away last Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Choteau hospital. Burial was in Choteau cemetery.
The young housewife and mother was born Irene Ruth Jones, Feb. 14, 1912, in Great Falls and had lived in Eden, Mont., prior to coming to Farmington in 1935.
She was married Sept. 20, 1935, to Jack W. Slanger. Three children survive, two daughters, Hazel and Jackylne, and a newborn son, Donald.
Other survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Jones, Eden, Mont.; and seven sisters, Mrs. George Thompson, Belt; Mrs. Gabriel Morenz and Mrs. Dan Garrity, Great Falls; Mrs. Walter Steyeart, Mrs. John Funk and Mrs. Robert Lynes, all of Eden; and Mrs. Byron Haxton, of Portage.
Deceased was graduated from high school and nurse's training. That one so young should have been called will bring forth the sympathy of all.
