"FLY CREEK - Joseph W. Skubitz, 66, a long-time resident of Fly Creek, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 7, 1980 at his home. He was born March 19, 1914, at Forest City, Pa., son of Louis and Johanna Stepnic Skubitz. He never married, and was a long-time cattle dealer in Fly Creek. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Cooperstown. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Frances) Novak of Little Falls, Mrs. Rose Prince of North Plainfield, N. J., Mrs. Angeline Dusenbury of Harrison, N.Y.; four brothers, John of Montgomery, Ala., Frank of Richfield Springs, Anton of Mt. Vision, N.Y., William of Fly Creek. He is also survived by his fiancee, Ellen Curcio of Richfield Springs. Also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 10th at the Ingalls, Connel & Dow Funeral Home, Cooperstown, with the Rev. John Sise Administrator of St. Mary's Church officiating.
