Gilson Avenue resident Mildred Bloor Skidmore passed away at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at The Orchards of East Liverpool, following a brief illness. She was 88.

Born in East Liverpool on March 17, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Ruth Wilkins Bloor. A 1944 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Mildred had worked at American Paper Products until her marriage to Robert T. Skidmore in 1950, when she became a devoted homemaker and mother.

Mildred was sweet and kind to everyone she encountered; she quietly pitched in and helped wherever it was needed. Raised in the 1st United Methodist Church, she and Bob attended 1st United Presbyterian Church, where she assisted in Christ for Youth for many years.
Mildred was preceded in death by another sister, Flora Young, and a brother, W. Robert Bloor.

Services will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Tom Schneidmiller of Grace Bible Church.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Mildred will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery, after which time the family will return to the Dawson Family Center for a continued time of fellowship.
