Mrs. Ella D. Adams, ninety-two, of 1613 Orange street, Berwick, died at the Bloomsburg Hospital Sunday morning at two, where she had been a patient for the past four days. She had been a guest at the McCarthy Nursing Home, Orangeville for two months.
Born in Fishing Creek Township, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Miranda Varner Sitler, and lived in this area her entire life. Her husband, John Kinney Adams died in 1947. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Berwick and was a charter member of the Briar Creek Grange.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Bessie Adams, of Berwick, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Doyle (Mary) Keck, Berwick R. D. 2; Mrs. Eugene (Maude) Yeager, of Nescopeck R. D. 1; three sons, Ray Adams, of Allentown; Harry and Paul Adams, of Berwick. Her oldest daughter, Mrs. Jason (Floe) Bower, of Evansville, died in 1945. Twenty-one grandchildren; fifty-four great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren, and one brother Nathaniel Sitler, of Berwick, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two from the Kelchner Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Custer, Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Housenick's cemetery, Berwick R. D.
