Abraham A Sites was born on his father's farm on Elk Horn, November 3,1843, and died at his home at Masonville, March 9,1913, aged 69 years, 4 months 6 days. He was the son of Conrad and Katherine (Loch) Sites. He was baptized in infancy. Later he renewed the batismal vow by publically confirming his Saviour. He continued steadfastly to trust and serve Him during his whole life. He was married May 27,1865 to Susanna Sites. Six children were born to this union. Two brothers, four sisters, one grandchild and one great grandchild preceded him to the Spirit world. There is left to mourn his departure, the afflicted wife, one brother, one sister, three sons, three daughters, 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was not only a man whom the world praised, but he was a man of true christian character. This is shown by the zeal he manifested for the church and his Savior; by the careful training of his children, by the hospitality of his home. He was not satisfied to be only a moral man.He believed that Christ Jesus was a Savior for himself and early taught his children to trust the Love which alone can comfort them in this, their hour of trial. He revealed his faith as is expressed by his favorite Psalm. No. 128, "Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands; happy shalt thou be and it shall be well with thee."
