Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Edith Singleton Granato, age 90, completed her journey on earth with courage, dignity and humor on September 4, 2008.

Edith was born August 19, 1918 in Springville, Utah to Francis Singleton and Alice Stirling. She was raised in Eureka, Utah and graduated from Tintic High School. At the age of 20 she moved to Salt Lake City, where she lived the rest of her days. In 1945, she married Frank Granato. Edith lived her life with great joy and an incomparable sense of humor. Her many passions and talents included cooking, quilting, gardening, reading, good conversation, and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. She believed her family to be her most cherished treasure. The love Edith gave to her family will remind us to cherish each other every day. We will miss her strong and spunky personality. Many knew her as a true friend, an elect lady. We, her family, are blessed for the rest of our lives for having been loved by such a grand woman.

Edith is survived by her son, Samuel (Ann) and daughter, Glenda Fredrickson, seven grandchildren, Matthew, John and Gia Fredrickson, Frank (Melissa), Alex and David Granato and Krista (Mark) Numbers and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, brothers, Stirling and James, sister, Beulah Patteson, and son-in-law, Bob Fredrickson.

A viewing will be held on Monday evening, September 8, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 11 a.m. at the Holladay 29th Ward Chapel, 4032 South 2300 East, Holladay, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to the services from 10-10:45 a.m.
