Clara Faye Sims Cribbs died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at the age of 85 in Tallahassee, Fla. She was born July 2, 1923, in Lafayette County to L.A. and Ebbie Sims. She grew up in Branford, Fla. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Thomasville Road Baptist Church, preceded by a private graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery. Faye was a graduate of Walsh Business College in Jacksonville, Fla. After positions with Tamiami Baptist Church and Florida International University, she retired in 1993 from the Department of University Relations at Florida State University. She was a member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church and Joy Sunday School class. Faye is survived by three daughters, Phyllis McVoy (Ross), Cheryl Dryden (Carl) and Leesa Hetzer; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Dr. Leon Sims (Miriam), Leota Fletcher and Exolona Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Leona Gunter, Brantley Sims, Thelma Cheney, and Brinson Sims. Aunt "Sug" will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Thomasville Road Baptist Church, 3131 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308, as well as Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
