Born in Scranton on Oct. 3, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Genevieve Simrell.
Surviving are three sons, Edward W. Wazney, of North Carolina; Louis Francis Wazney, of South Carolina; and Robert William Wazney, of South Carolina; one sister, Linda J. Clyde, of Florida; two grandchildren, Erika Dawn Wazney and Jonathon Louis Edward Wazney, of South Carolina. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Edwin, Donald, William and Robert Simrell.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Palmetto Health Tuomey and the staff at McElveen Manor for the love and support that was shown to her over the last few years.
A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Sznyter Funeral Home, 1101 Prospect Ave., Scranton. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11. Entombment will follow in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cemetery.
