SCHWOLSKY, Lillian (Silver)
Lillian (Silver) Schwolsky, of Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, (May 19, 2001) at Seabury Health Center in Bloomfield.
She was the wife of the late George Schwolsky, Judge, State Representative and founder of the University of Hartford, and sister of the late Dr. Seymour D. Silver of Baltimore, MD.
Born in Hartford on January 19, 1903, she graduated from Smith College in 1925 majoring in French.
She was an accomplished pianist and was blessed with a beautiful contralto voice. For years a string quartet met Sunday evenings at her home. She was very active in the Smith College Club of Hartford, the Musical Club, The Hartt College of Music Association, and the Mt. Sinai Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances S. Feuer of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughters, Pamela and Wendy Feuer; grandson, Thomas Feuer and his wife, Kelly; two great grandchildren; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Irving and Evelyn Schwolsky; and several nieces and nephews. The family is most grateful to Marion Cox for her devoted service.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
