OBITUARY OF THE LATE MRS. JABIUS ALLEN
Sarah Virginia Shores, daughter of Harriet and James Shores, was born January 24, 1863 and departed this life June 5, 1939 at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 12 days.
She was united in marriage to Joel Jabius Allen, February 23, 1897. To this union one son, Marshal, and one daughter, Letha, were born. Letha Allen Rice preceded her mother in death January 26, 1938.
Mrs. Allen leaves to mourn their loss her husband, her son, Marshal, four grandchildren, and one brother, James Shores, and many other relatives and friends.
As a young girl she united with the Presbyterian Church. By the help of the Lord she lived the Christian life.
Funeral services were conducted at Evans Chapel, June 7, 1939 by John M. Yoder of the Mennonite Church, with music by members of the Mennonite and Brethren churches and others.
Burial was in the New Providence cemetery.
