Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Bowers, 82, who died at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday at her home in Bowerstown, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of God with the Rev. R. C. Hume, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Funk's Cemetery two miles north of Bippus.
Mrs. Bowers had been bedfast and seriously ill the last three weeks.
She was born in Warren Township March 20, 1856, to Jacob and Hattie Shoemaker. Her first marriage was to Nicholas Williams, who is dead. Surviving from the first marriage are two sons, A. E. Williams, of this city, and Jacob S. Williams, of Tippecanoe; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Maass, of Saginaw, Michigan; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A son is dead.
The second marriage was in December of last year to Jacob Bowers, who survives. Other survivors include two step-sons, William Bowers and Samuel Bowers, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Edith Drabenstot, all of Bowerstown; 15 step-grandchildren, 12 step-great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. John Spath, of this city. She was a member of the Church of God.
