Opal Maude Dusenbery, one of four children of William Sherman and Lillian Stanton Sherman, was born on Feb. 13, 1900 at Tecumseh, Nebr., and passed away in Pawnee City, Nebr., on Sept. 11, 1948.
She was a graduate of Tecumseh High School and grew to womanhood in that community.
On Nov., 22, 1919, she was united in marriage to Chauncey O. Dusenbery of Pawnee City. To this union were born three children, Harold Reed Dusenbery of Pawnee City and Doris Delphyne, wife of Anthony Capaldo of Pawnee City and Dona June, wife of Donald E. Albin of Lincoln, Nebr., all of whom survive her.
She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Harry C. (Garnet) Hicks of Lincoln; two brothers, Ralph and Wilber Sherman of Tecumseh; two grandsons, Anthony Odell Capaldi and Michael Reed Dusnebery and many friends.
A resident of this community for 29 years, Mrs. Dusenbery was a member of the Christian Church since childhood; also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxillaries. Her main interst in life was her family and home. She was a devoted wife and mother. She will long be remembered by her many friends for her thoughtfulness and kindness.
The funeral service was held at Wherry's Chapel on Monday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. W. N. Wallis. Burial was in Pawnee City cemetery.
