He was born July 12, 1940, in Paint Cliff, Ky., the son of the late John E. and Millie Boling Shepherd. He was a coal miner.
Donald enjoyed his grand children and his great nephew Caleb who was just 5 when his "Uncle Donald" passed. Donald had a passion for music and would show off his vast collection to anybody. He is sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife, Fannie Bryant Shepherd and his children, Jeffrey L. Shepherd of Whitley City, Ky., Scott D. Shepherd of Wilmore, Chris D. Shepherd of Nicholasville, and Teresa R. Williams of Winfield, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Shepherd of Sedalia, MO.; and sisters Brenda Shepherd of Stearns, Ky., and Barbara Sue Dixon of Whitley City, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George Shepherd, Bob Shepherd and Roger Shepherd, and a sister, Lora Foster.
