Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sauter Funeral Home, North Main Street, Spring Grove. Interment in Jefferson Cemetery.

Mrs. Joanna Shearer, 86, Dies Near Wiota
Wiota - Mrs. Joanna Werner Shearer, widow of John D. Shearer, died at 9:15 o’clock Wednesday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Markle, Spring Grove RD 2, with whom she resided for the past five years. She was 86 years old.
A daughter of the late John and Margaret Smith Werner of Codorus Township, she is survived by one son, Curvin Shearer, 402 Ridge Avenue, Hanover; two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Swartzbaugh, Jefferson, and Mrs. Samuel Markle, with whom she resided; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one brother, Levi Werner, Union Mills, Md.
She was a member of Jefferson EUB Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Sauter Funeral Home, North Main Street. Her pastor, Rev. Bernard Fogle, will officiate, assisted by the former pastor, Rev. George C. Dougherty. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery.
