Betty J. Wilson Barninger of Millerstown died on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born June 20, 1927 at Ickesburg, Pa. to the late Albert and Margaret (Scott) Sheaffer of Landisburg, PA.
She graduated from the Landisburg High School. She was a former member of the Tressler Memorial Lutheran Church, Loysville and worked for the United Telephone Company in Loysville as a telephone operator for 12 years. She and her late husband Joe S. Wilson operated the Perry County Home from November 1963 to November 1973. Her husband passed away January 1983. She worked for the Perry County Commissioners for two years and then drove bus for the Tri-County for ten years. She belonged to the Ickesburg Fire Company, Inc.; the Ladies Auxiliary; the Ambulance Association and the Eshcol Cemetery Association.
In 1990 she married Robert F. Barninger. They were married a little over four years when he passed away in 1994.
Survivors are a brother, Wayne A. Sheaffer of Loysville, three sisters, Helen Smith, Mechanicsburg, Linda Stuber, Hummelstown, Shirley Nace, Loysville and several nieces and nephews.
Public graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the Eshcol Cemetery near Ickesburg with the Rev. David Peterson officiating.
