Mrs. William (Sylvia Belle Bennett, 80 died of injuries received in an automobile accident in Elmwood Township, Thursday, May 25, 1972. She resided on East Akron Road RFD No 1, Caro formerly of East Dayton owned a store there for many years. She was born August 2, 1891, in Dayton Township to the late Robert and Sarah Catherine (Walls) Shaw.
She married the late William Bennett on January 1, 1909, who died May 18, 1966. She is survived by four sons, Neil Bennett of Caro, Ivan Bennett of Tulare, California, Douglas E. Bennett of Maryville, and Amos W. Bennett of Homestead, Florida: three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Shera of Saginaw, Mrs. Ruby Barrow of Northville and Mrs. Eugene (Rita) Tait of Caro, 17 Grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Elmer Shaw of Clarkston and Robert Shaw of Alpena. She was a member of the Kingston United Methodist Church and the Wells Extension Class.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Harmon Funeral Home with services in the Kingston United Methodist Church at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 1972, with the Rev. Verne Blankenburg of Kingston United Methodist Church and assisted by the Rev. Olaf Jensen of the Caro Baptist Church officiating with burial in the East Dayton Cemetery.
