Mrs. Elgie Mae Brooks passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas after a long illness. Mrs. Brooks was born on August 26, 1927 in Cordova, Alabama to Roy and Geneva Shaneyfelt. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles A. Brooks, two daughters, Brenda Gay Garrett and Tina Lynn LaVally, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her son, Harry M. Bartholomew Jr. and wife, Darlene Bartholomew, one grandson, Harry M. (Trey) Bartholomew III., one granddaughter, Sheila M. Luttrell and husband Steven A. Luttrell, two great grandchildren, Lucas A. Luttrell and Lindsey M. Luttrell and one brother, Louis Calvin Shaneyfelt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Park East in Webster, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2011. The service will be in the chapel at Forest Park East on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10am. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
