Obituary:

LYDIA E. BRETCHES

Lydia E. Shafer was born in Shelby County Ohio , November 6, 1840 and departed this life February 19, 1925 at the home of her son, William Bretches, at Hale, Kansas, aged 74 years, 8 months and 8 days.
She was married to Jacob Bretches in 1855 in Shelby County, Ohio. To this union fourteen children were born, 8 boys 6 girls, 3 girls and her husband proceeding her in death. She was converted at an early age and lived a consistant Christian life.
She leaves to mourn her loss, three daughters and eight sons, Elizaqbeth Morgan of Granada, Colorado; Mrs. Barbara Murphy of Dewey, Oklahoma; Mrs. Berth child of Washington; William Bretches of Elk City, Kansas; John Bretches of Montrose, Colorado; Ed Bretches of Lamar, Colorado; Charles and Homer Bretches of Solomon, Kansas; Bert Bretches of Longton, Kansas; Milton of Webb City, Missouri; Richard Bretches of Indenpence, Kansas besides one brother Levi Shafer and one sister Mrs. Malinda Eicher of Ohio and 65 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Mrs. Bretches was sticken with paralysis in her left side in December and was confined to her bed since that time. She was kind and patient thnrough her suffering.
Short services were held at the home of her son, William, and the body was brought to round Mound Church where services conducted and the body was laid to rest in the round Mound Cemetery by the side of her husband.
Relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. And Mrs. William Bretches and children, Lilly, Ellen, Irvin, Joe, and Jake, Mr. And Mrs. Claude Seybolt and children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bretches and son Wilmer Bretches, Mrs. Barbara Murphy, Mrs. T. A. Knotts, Guy Bretches, Mr. And Mrs. Morris Bretches, Mr. And Mrs. Arlin Swe____ and sons Lloyd and Riley.

Obituary:
Lydia E. Shafer was born in Shelby County Ohio , November 6, 1840 and departed this life February 19, 1925 at the home of her son, William Bretches, at Hale, Kansas, aged 74 years, 8 months and 8 days.

She was married to Jacob Bretches in 1855 in Shelby County, Ohio. To this union fourteen children were born, 8 boys 6 girls, 3 girls and her husband proceeding her in death. She was converted at an early age and lived a consistant Christian life.

She leaves to mourn her loss, three daughters and eight sons, Elizaqbeth Morgan of Granada, Colorado; Mrs. Barbara Murphy of Dewey, Oklahoma; Mrs. Berth child of Washington; William Bretches of Elk City, Kansas; John Bretches of Montrose, Colorado; Ed Bretches of Lamar, Colorado; Charles and Homer Bretches of Solomon, Kansas; Bert Bretches of Longton, Kansas; Milton of Webb City, Missouri; Richard Bretches of Indenpence, Kansas besides one brother Levi Shafer and one sister Mrs. Malinda Eicher of Ohio and 65 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

Mrs. Bretches wa sticken with paralysis in her left side in December and was confined to her bed since that time. She was kind and patient thnrough her suffering. Short services were held at the home of her son, William, and the body was brought to round Mound Church where services conducted and the body was laid to rest in the round Mound Cemetery by the side of her husband.

Relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. And Mrs. William Bretches and children, Lilly, Ellen, Irvin, Joe, and Jake, Mr. And Mrs. Claude Seybolt and children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bretches and son Wilmer Bretches, Mrs. Barbara Murphy, Mrs. T. A. Knotts, Guy Bretches, Mr. And Mrs. Morris Bretches, Mr. And Mrs. Arlin Swe____ and sons Lloyd and Riley.
