Elizabeth Baylor Humber, 93, of Columbus, GA died in Columbus, GA Wednesday, April 9. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 13, 2008 in St. Luke United Methodist Church with Reverend Helen Berenthien, Reverend Frank Parr, Chaplain Dan MacMinn and Reverend Sandra Henry officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road. Burial will follow on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Humber was born August 14, 1914 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Dr. Garnett C. Shackleford and Marie Ellis Shackleford. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Choir for over 60 years. Mrs. Humber was active in several other ministries including Meals on Wheels, 3-F Hand Bell Choir and served for 10 years as the Elementary 5 Sunday School Secretary. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends, but her legacy will impact lives for many generations. Mrs. Humber was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Humber, Sr. Survivors include her son, George F. Humber, Jr and his fiancŽe, Virginia Bostock of Cleveland, GA; a daughter, Carol Humber of Columbus, GA; numerous friends.
