Husband of Mary Seymour (1854-1932), Father of Dorothy Seymour (1878-1900), and Ira Seymour(1882-1966). Son of Gideon Seymour (1821-1906), and Effie Ann Seymour (1822-1867). Jonas was a wealthy prominent figure in Fulton County, Ohio. In 1918, the family moved to California and purchased the township of Balico. The family could not irrigate and lost everything. Jonas was known as a bit of a curmudgeon. He used to like to chew tobacco and once in the car he was ready to spit and his grandson Lawrence covered his mouth so he swallowed it.
