Funeral for Billy Carl Sessions, 76, of Lufkin will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Sessions died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in a Nacogdoches hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Wells.

Funeral services for Billy Carl Sessions, 76, of Lufkin will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Sessions was born August 6, 1936 in Wells, Texas to Carl and Opal (Rogers) Sessions, and died Monday, January 21, 2013 in a Nacogdoches hospital. He graduated from Wells High School and later moved to Lufkin.

Mr. Sessions served in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Forestry. After college he worked for Angelina Lumber Co. and Owens Illinois. He and his brothers, Roger, Bobby and Joel, went on to own and operate Nacogdoches Lumber Co. After retirement he blessed the lives of many people as a Forestry Consultant. Also in his retirement he loved to share his love of Christ with people. Mr. Sessions was a Gideon, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Joyce M. Sessions; daughters and sons-in-law, Sabrina Diane and Jeremy Ledbetter, and Mary Ann and Terry McKnight; son, Loy Eugene Weaver; grandchildren, Lindsey Ledbetter, Amy Hupp,, Jerry McKnight and wife Melissa, and Christopher Weaver and wife Selena; great-grandchildren, Hayley McKnight, Carson McKnight, and Dustin Hupp; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joel and Sue Sessions and Pete and LaDonna Sullivan; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, James Lee "Jamie" McKnight; twin brother, Bobby Carroll Sessions; and brother, Roger Ewell Sessions.
