COLUMBIA - Mary Dolores Bouknight, 86, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late August and Mary Serio.

Mary was a graduate of Ursuline High School in Columbia and longtime member of St. Peter's and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was a devoted and loving wife and mother.

Mary is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lindy Bouknight; sons, Lynn Bouknight (Judy) of North Augusta, Ron Bouknight (Debbie) of Columbia, Gary Bouknight (Deena) of Columbia; daughters, Dolores Clark (Larry) of Aiken, Rose Underwood (Joe) of Columbia, Lisa Padua of Columbia; brother, Samuel Serio of Columbia; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by two sisters, Grace Moore of Columbia and Anna Rose Barranco of Bradenton, Florida.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Gould, of Three Rivers Medical Group, The Palmettos of Parklane, Wildewood Downs Skilled Nursing Home and staff, and Dr. Gal Margalit and staff for their compassionate and professional care.

A Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, with visitation to follow at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following: South Carolina Chapter Alzheimer's Association, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210, St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 3600 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205, or Cardinal Newman School, Capital Campaign, 4701 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206.
