OBITUARY – Florence Smith Sentell died May 15, 1930, Pinehurst, Dooly, Georgia THE VIENNA NEWS Thursday, May 22, 1930 PINEHURST WOMAN CLAIMED BY DEATH Mrs. Perry Sentell, Well Known Woman, Succumbs To Illness Friends at Pinehurst and over the county were saddened at the death of Mrs. Perry Sentell, which occurred at midnight last Thursday. Mrs. Sentell became ill about ten days before her death with a carbuncle, but her condition was not considered serious until last Wednesday night when she lost consciousness. She was in a state of unconsciousness until her death. Funeral services were conducted at Pinehurst Methodist church Friday afternoon at five o'clock. Rev. J. J. Sandern Methodist Pastor and Rev. H. F. Jelks, Baptist minister were jointly in charge of the services. Interment was in the Smith cemetery near Pleasant Valley. The deceased was the wife of Perry Sentell, well known Pinehurst merchant. She had lived in Pinehurst for the past five years, coming there from Lilly. That she had a host of friends was shown by the large and beautiful floral offerings. Mrs. Sentell was an active member of the Methodist church. She was born at Pleasant Valley in 1893 and was before her marriage, 18 years ago, Miss Florence Smith. She was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Jack Smith. Besides her husband and one daughter, Louise, Mrs. Sentell is survived by four sisters; Mrs. L. D. Abernathy, Clarksville, Tenn; Mrs. Guy Striplin {Stripling], Cuthbert, Ga.,; Mrs. Grady McKinney, Hawkinsville, Ga., Mrs. Otis Nobles, Hawkinsville, Ga.; Five brothers, Mr. Joe Tillman Smith, Vienna, Ga.,; Mr. Eugene Smith, Cosby, S. C. ; Mr. Claude Smith, Cosby, S. C.; Mr. Edgar Smith,, Hawkinsville, Ga.,; Mr. B. Smith, Lilly,Ga., Two half brothers, James and Ronald of Cordele and a step mother, Mrs. Annie Smith of Cordele.
