Beatrice Elaine Segar was born on May 27, 1930 in Phoenix, Ariz. She went to be with her heavenly Father on March 19, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
She moved to Santa Monica as a young girl and graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1948. She attended Biola University from 1949 to 1952.
She loved to ice skate and that was where she met Raymond Segar. They were married on Dec. 1, 1956. They moved to Ojai in the ‘60s and raised their two boys. She worked at Head Start for more than 15 years. They attended the First Baptist Church of Ojai, then later Live Oak Christian Fellowship.
Bea is survived by her son, Ronald Segar, daughter-in-law Susan Segar, grandson David Segar, granddaughter Jessica Segar, David's fiancée Meghan Collins and future great grandson Noah Segar, also her sister, Dorothy Kalloch, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of her life service on Good Friday, March 29, 2013, at noon at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
