SPENCER — Mrs. Philip J. (Josephine C.) See, 81, of 304 S. Pearl St., Spencer, died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted Monday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer. The Rev. Andrew H. Bofenkamp will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer. The Christian Mothers Society service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a vigil service at 8.
The former Josephine Roecklein was born March 14, 1903 in Hewitt, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John (Kundigunda) Roecklein and received her education in schools there.
On May 5, 1924 in Hewitt she was married to Philip J. See. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1974. He died Oct. 10, 1980. After their marriage they farmed on Route 3, Marshfield, until retiring and moving to Spencer. She had lived in Spencer the past 14 years.
Mrs. See was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers Society; the Catholic Order of Foresters; the Missionary Society; Gold Star Mothers and Spencer Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son, John of Milwaukee; four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Gertrude) Gripentrog of Milwaukee, Barbara See of Spencer, Mrs. Ted (Cassie) Fennig of Greendale and Mrs. Pauline Brandt of DeLand, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Strupp of Milwaukee and Mrs. Hattie Altman of Mayville.
She was also predeceased by two daughters, a son, a brother and four sisters.
