Funeral services for Letha Belle Scrimshire will be held Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Christ in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah. Letha Belle Scrimshire was born July 13, 1926 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma to Jim and Minnie (Teem) Guinn. She passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Okemah at the age of 82. Mrs. Scrimshire had been a resident of the Okemah area most all of her life. She and Leland Thomas Scrimshire were married June 21, 1947. Mrs. Scrimshire was a loving homemaker and a devoted member of the Okemah Church of Christ. Mrs. Scrimshire enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Leland of Okemah; two daughters, Rita George and husband Robert of Bearden and Beverly Lawson of Moore, Oklahoma; three brothers, Noah Guinn of Bearden, Jerry Guinn of Okemah, and Ronnie Guinn of Okemah; three grandchildren, Monica Braden of Edmond, Matt George and wife Audra of Claremore, and Rebecca Williams and husband James of Bearden; and five great-grandchildren, Autumn, Samantha, and Lawson Braden, Georgiana Williams, and Maddox George. Mrs. Scrimshire's nephews will be serving as pallbearers. Services under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Michael Grigsby.
