Porter Loring Mortuary:

Maurine Scott Germer, age 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2007. She was born in Campwood, Texas in Real County, March 25, 1918 to Ernest and Mellie Scott.

She graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1936 where she received a music scholarship to attend Incarnate Word College for 4 years, playing the violin in the orchestra and singing in the I.W.C. Choral Society. She was honored in her senior year 1940 by being in Whoís Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Maurine was an educator, teaching and molding young minds at Elmendorf Elementary School, Sidney Lanier Junior School and 23 years at Woodridge Elementary School in Alamo Heights Independent School System.

She loved the Lord and the study of Godís word, teaching for many years young women in the churches she attended-Baptist Temple for 28 years; Alamo Heights Baptist Church for 12 years, Northridge Park Baptist Church for seven years and Trinity Baptist Church where she has been a member since1974. She was a charter member of Letís Have a Visit Prayer Ministry.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Louis Germer; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Wayne Daughtrey of Cotulla, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Gregg Scott Germer and Donna of Big Fork, Montana; four grandchildren, Kristine M. Roemer of Houston, Texas; Kimberly C. Davila and Ben of San Antonio, Texas; Brittney D. Varnon and Cody of Uvalde, Texas; Jantzen J. Rowell of San Antonio, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashleigh, Matthew Avery, Christian Nathaniel Roemer of Houston, Texas; Erin Kelly of San Antonio, Texas; Calvin Thomas Varnon IV and Cashlyn Loreen of Uvalde, Texas.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Home Ministries Foundation, 909 NE Loop 410, Suite 800, San Antonio, TX 78209 or a charity of one's choice.
