Until 2007 when she moved to Charlotte, Mrs. Cook spent most of her life in California. She worked for many years at a financial accounting firm, Business Administration, in Beverly Hills, CA, with notable clients that included Ronald Reagan, Jane Wyman and Ray Milland.
A lifelong passion for the theater, Mrs. Cook was a member of the Screen Actors Guild for 70 years. While most of her acting interests were in amateur theater, she studied under Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance.
Prior to her work in theater, Ms. Cook was a Las Vegas showgirl in the early 1940’s.
Mrs. Cook is predeceased by her brothers Bernie and Morrie Schwartz; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Pearl; and her husband, Wally Cook.
Eleanor is survived by her son, Les (Roberta) Farnum; two grandchildren: Amy (David) Hull of Knoxville, TN and Damon (Brydie) Farnum of Wayland, MA; three great grandchildren: Samantha, Atticus and Allie Hull of Knoxville; nieces Marlene Alaniz and Carol Ciraulo, as well as many grandnieces and nephew.
Les and Roberta would like to thank her Home Instead Senior Care CAREGivers who took excellent care of her for the past 10 years, especially her long-time CAREGiver, Lisa Whitney.
Many thanks to the dedicated and compassionate staff at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.
Mrs. Cook will be interred at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA.
