Mary Mae Schultz Baylor, 87, of Danville passed away peacefully at Sun Home Hospice in the Sunbury Hospital on Jan. 27, 2014.

She longed to go home to be with Bob, her husband of 55 years, who passed away July 2, 2002. She is now reunited with Bob, her mother, Pearl Schultz, father, John "Jack" Schultz, brother, John Bruce Schultz, and sister, Dawn Hagenbuch, who have passed away.

Surviving Mary are her brother, Robin Shultz, and his wife, Karen, of Willingboro, N.J.; sister, Kerry Flick, and her husband, Warren Flick Sr., of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

During her high school years, she did baby sitting for Dr. Buckert who worked at Geisinger. Upon her graduation, he offered her a job as his medical transcriptionist. This was the beginning of a lifetime of medical transcribing. She took a college course to teach medical transcribing and taught for one year. She found that she liked doing the work better than teaching, so she continued doing the job that she loved. While married to Bob, he took three sabbatical leaves. They spent two years in London, England, and one year traveling around the world.

When Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, she retired to care for him. She moved back to Danville to be around family and became the leader for the Susquehanna Valley Alzheimer's Association Support Group, which she did for 10 years. The group met at the Evangelical Hospital in Lewisburg. She was an advocate for finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease and she also did some public speaking to stress the need for research.

Mary loved spending time with her great-nephew, Michael Holmes, and his sister, Mary Holmes. She looked forward to her frequent Sunday visits with her niece, Linda Hagenbuch. Linda would bring a movie to watch after they got back from their Chinese dinner. She also looked forward to the family gatherings called "Soup Night" and playing games afterward.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville. The burial will follow at Straub's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Greater PA Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to Sun Home Health Hospice, 61 Duke St., P.O. Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady Funeral Home of Danville. Please send online condolences to
