Opal 'Pete" Meyer, age 82, passed away, Friday, October 21, 2016. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Flomot Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Quitaque.

"Mr. and Mrs. Willie Fred (Billy) Meyer of Turkey recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at their grandson’s home in Amarillo. They are the parents of Tim and Phyllis Meyer of Brownfield, M’Liss and Dedric Brockman of Amarillo, Karla and Kenneth Helms of Quitaque, Max and Suzie Meyer of Quitaque, Dan and Tessa Meyer of Quitaque, and Shanlee Brown of Amarillo. Opal (Pete) Schuch and Billy Meyer married Sept. 18, 1954, in Mason. They have 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."

Opal Inez "Pete" Meyer, 82, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Running water Draw Care Center in Olton. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Flomot. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Quitaque.

She was the wife of Willie Fred "Billy" Meyer. They shared 62 years of marriage together. Born on December 17, 1933 in Gillespie County, Texas. She was the daughter of Max and Ella Mae Schuch.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Fred "Billy" Meyer, her children, Tim and Phyllis Meyer of Brownfield, M'Liss and Dedric Brockman of Amarillo, Karla and Kenneth Helms of Quitaque, Max and Suzie Meyer of Quitaque, Dan and Tessa Meyer of Quitaque and Shanlee Meyer of Turkey, 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, siblings, Leola and Walton Grote, Arles Schuch and Skily and Diana Schuch.

She is preceded in death by two grandsons; Anthony Fraser in 1982 and Micah Meyer in 2003.

The family suggest that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Quitaque-P.O. Box 428, Quitaque, Texas 79255.
