Mrs. William I. (Hattie A.) Applegate, a Portland area resident since 1924, died in a local hospital Tuesday at the age of 88. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Milwaukie Funeral Home, with private interment in Lincoln Memorial Park. Mrs. Applegate, who lived at 4322 Logus Road, Milwaukie, was born June 26, 1884, in Cedar Creek, Neb. She and her husband celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last September. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Ila E. Saunders of Portland and Orpha M. Berriman of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and one brother, Arthur Schneider of Los Angeles.
