Funeral services for Hattie Schneider, 84 of Houston, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor, Texas with Rev. Russell Etzel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Schneider family will be present for visitation Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Schneider passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in Houston.

Hattie Hermine Schulze Schneider was born on June 10, 1926 in Loebau, Texas to Gustav & Dora (Iselt) Schulze. She was united in marriage to Arnold W. Schneider on March 21, 1943. Hattie was a loving and devoted homemaker who was also employed as a custodian with St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Houston.

Mrs. Schneider was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold and three brothers, Martin Schulze, Walter Schulze and Arnold Schulze.

She is survived by five children, Howard & Clarice Schneider of Houston, Carol & Clarence Melcher of Lincoln, Eugene & Joyce Schneider of Hockley, Charles "Duke" & Rose Schneider of Houston and Dorrie & Jerry Kreger of Houston; grandchildren, Stacy & Robert Mooney of Needville, Tim & Carri Melcher of Lincoln, Toby & Tiffany Melcher of College Station, Trey & Lori Melcher of Hill, Monica Schneider of Hockley, Rhonda Schneider of Cypress, William Schneider and friend, Andrea Schreiber of Houston, Marcus & Amanda Schneider of Houston, Selena & Keith Mize of Houston, Sara Schneider of Houston; Matthew Schneider of Houston; and Kyle Kreger; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth & Alvin Beisert of Giddings and Lillie & Robert House of Giddings as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Mooney, Tim Melcher, Toby Melcher, Trey Melcher, William Schneider, Marcus Schneider, Matthew Schneider, Kyle Kreger and Keith Mize. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Mooney, Chesston Melcher, Tristan Melcher, Zachary Schneider, Demetrias Turk and Emery Turk.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Fund or the charity of one's choice.
