Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Marie E. Loso, age 85 of St. Joseph. Marie passed away on January 17, 2010 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home. Reverend Eberhard Schefers will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 12:00 noon on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. St. Joseph Senior Citizens, Christian Women, and American Legion Auxiliary #328 will pray together at 4:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Marie was born on March 6, 1924 in Jacobs Prairie, Minnesota to Bernard and Cecelia (Doubek) Schmitz. She married Daniel L. Loso on February 12, 1947 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie. She lived in St. Joseph all of her married life.

Marie was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Christian Women, St. Joseph Senior Citizens, St. Joseph Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5773 and the American Legion Post #328 Auxiliaries, and NARVRE. Marie was a daycare provider for over 25 years, decorated cakes and donated cookies every year.

She enjoyed playing bingo, casino trips, game shows, and playing cards. Marie especially loved cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Connie (Roger) Bautch of Waite Park, Chuck (Myrna) of Willmar, Jane (Mike) Theisen of St. Joseph, Frank (Jeannine) of Becida, Dave (Peggy) of St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Ervin (Lorraine) and Don (Mary Lou) both of St. Paul, Fritz (Carol) and LeRoy (Joanne) both of Cold Spring, Eddie (Joanne) of Rockville and Robert (Mary Ann) of St. Cloud; sisters, Eileen (Al) Walz of St. Paul, Louise (Jim) Dingmann of St. Cloud and Leona Jungels of Cold Spring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dan in 1997; two grandchildren, Kyle Loso, age 5, in 1991 and one infant; one brother, George Schmitz.
