Eugenia (Gene) Scharf passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at the ET York Hospice Care Center after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was recently preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harry E. Scharf.
Born in New York City in 1937, she went on to earn degrees in research psychology. Over a long career, she held positions as a university professor, magazine editor, and medical writer and researcher. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Scharf and son-in-law Patrick Gibson, her godchild Cynthia Waring Shockley, many nieces, and one nephew.
According to Gene's wishes, private cremation will be conducted with no further services scheduled. In lieu of flowers, please keep Gene in your thoughts and prayers, and consider making a donation to Haven Hospice.
