DOROTHY BLOEDE (nee SCHAFER) Age 86, of Crown Point, IN, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004, at her home. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Bloede of Crown Point; son, Paul (Teresa) Bloede of Crown Point; 3 step grandchildren, Stephanie Little, Jason (Dephine) Little, and Tim Little; 3 brothers, Harry (Ellen Anne) Schafer of LaCrosse, IN, Ed (Toni) Schafer of Crown Point, Joe (Nancy) Schafer of Crown Point; 3 sisters-in-law, Delores Schafer of Argos, IN, Collette Schafer of Crown Point, Minnie Bloede of Crown Point; 1 brother-in-law, Elmer Bloede of Crown Point. Preceded in death by her husband, Arnold "Jake" Bloede; sisters, Magdeline Kersey, Rita Abraham, Mildred Abraham, and Sister Petrona Schafer; brothers, Ray Schafer and Willard Schafer. Services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2004, from Geisen Funeral Home, Crown Point, at 10:00 a.m. and at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Entombment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East St., Crown Point, on Wednesday, November 17, 2004, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Bloede was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and the Aquinas Club. She retired from A.S.C.S. and S.C.S. Agencies. Dorothy was a member of the Southlake County Agricultural Historical Society and belonged to the Rural Youth Club of Indiana. Memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or School.
