On Nov. 15, 1928, at the Ebenezer Methodist church in the Fernwood district, she married Fred Schaad, who survives. The Schaads had two sons: Mervin and Gerald, and two daughters, Eldora and Lucille.
She was a member of the W.S.C.S. of the Ebenezer church, a longtime member of the Fernwood Grange and belonged to the Newberg Gem and Mineral club and the All Rock-hound Pow-wow club of America.
Ellen, 55, died suddenly in Portland last Susday Afternoon. Funeral services were held at the Brown Memorial chapel on Wednesday, April 19, at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Cyril Dorsett officiating. Vault entombment followed at the Friends cemetery.
