Services for Dr. Edward B. Saxon, 75, is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home followed by a private graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Terrance. Dr. Saxon, a captain and former bomber squadron commander in the Army Air Corps, died Wednesday. He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a bomber pilot and test pilot. He then attended Gonzaga University and was graduated from the University of California at Berkely. He later became ill and struggled with polio for two years in the hospital. He then decided to attend medical school and was graduated from the University of California Medical School in San Francisco. Dr. Saxon moved to Spokane 39 years ago and was a practicing physician in the Spokane Valley for 25 years. He retired in1978. He was a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader and a former coach of Little League baseball. He was a member of the Spokane Club, St. Paschals Catholic Chruch and the Spokane County Medical Society. He was also a life member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rose Marie Saxon, at the home; two sons, Edward B. Saxon Jr. of the Spokane Valley and Richard A. Saxon of Spokane; a sister, Emma Reuter of Spokane; and a grandson. (The Spokesman-Review, Spokane, WA, Friday, June 5, 1992, p. B3, Col. 1)
