Birth: 1791
Laurens County
South Carolina, USA
Death: Apr. 27, 1862
Madison County
Mississippi, USA

FAMILY: References from the SAXON LEDGER, say that Isaac Anderson came from the Jamestown area of Virginia to Kentucky. He met and married near Bardstown, Kentucky, Clarinda Saxon, daughter of Joshua Saxon, Sr. of Laurens District, South Carolina about 1810.
The Ledger goes on to state Clarinda Saxon married Isaac Anderson in the early part of the 19th century in Kentucky and removed to Miss. (Not long before the Battle of New Orleans). Isaac Anderson lost his parents in childhood and was reared by his Uncle Abraham Anderson. Several relaltives & friends came with them to Miss. & with them Mr. and Mrs Honor West, whose daughter, Massie married, Robt. Anderson, son of Abraham Anderson, & cousin to G'PA Isaac Anderson. They lived near Port Gibson.
At the time of the Battle of New Orleans, Isaac, Robert and others of the connection, went on their way to join Gen'l Andrew Jackson at N.O. but did not arrive until the battle was over, but in the meantime their families could hear the cannons. When they moved from Ky. to Miss., they made the trip on a flat boat down the River. It is supposed they came sometime near 1812.
