Martha Phillips Heatherly, 68, of Morristown, went home to the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2011. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Amvets Auxillary Post 7 Morristown.
She was preceded in death by parents, Crawford and Agnes Sawyer; sister, Mae Elmore; and infant brothers, Dexter Lee and F.W.
She is survived by husband, James "Jim" Heatherly; son and daughter-in-law, Lendell and Tonya Phillips; grandsons, Zeke and Patrick Phillips; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Eric Herndon; grandchildren, Tony and Alie Hicks, Dominic and Dakota Keller; step-grandson, Matthew Keller and family, and Nathaniel Herndon and step-sons, Gerald and Darrell Heatherly and their families; sister and brother-in-law, June and Charles "Bobby" Kelley; nieces, Kathy Kelly and Karen Wunderlich; nephew, Brian Elmore and great-niece and nephew, Katie and Adam McCubbin.
She was an avid reader, loved Walmart and loved all her animals, her "precious babies." Her memory will be cherished by those who loved her dearly.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in Mayes Family Services of Morristown, Downtown Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Gulley and the Rev. Jack Greene officiating. Interment to follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the funeral home.
