Jennie Saule Sarafini, 85, of 116 Worth Ave., Solvay, died Saturday in Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Ms. Sarafini was born in Italy and lived in Solvay for more than 75 years. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and a life member of the Stanley B. Pennock Post #2893 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She was also a member of the Solvay Tiger's Athletic Club Auxiliary and served for many years as a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Surviving are three sons, Boneventure (Wynn) of Pennellville, Frank of Baldwinsville, and Herman (Hank) of Cato; two daughters, Ann Schilly of Central Square and Alice White of Fairmount; two brothers, John Thomas Saule of Fairmount and Anthony Saule of Solvay; two sisters, Julia Heid of Manlius and Rose Mydlinski of Marcellus; 32 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery .
