GLADYS HUMPHRIES
~ Gladys S. Humphries, 82, of Brookview Nursing Home, died Saturday, May 27, 1989 in Brookview Nursing Home.
~ A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late S. Ed and Sarah Huskey Sarratt and the widow of Earl Humphries.
~ She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and a retired seamstress with Dixie Glove Manufacturing.
~ Survivors include two brothers, both of Gaffney, Garland Sarratt and Ibra Sarratt; four sisters, Geraldine Davis of Gaffney, Alice Hendricks of Chesterville, S.C. and Sarah Shigley and Delia Pendry of Hayes, N.C.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.~ Services will be held at 3 p.m. today in Shuford-Hatcher Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sidney Norton. Burial will be in Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.
~ Pallbearers will be Edward Sarratt, Dwayne Humphries, Michael Crosby, Jim and John Humphries, Joe Hendricks, Reggie and Eddie Pendry, Jim Sarratt, Dennis and Greg Phillips, and Hal Shigley.
~ The family is the residence of Gayle Phillips on Pleasant School Road.
