Marian Pingree Sanders Cross passed away of natural causes at the age of 88 on Aug. 3, 2000 in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

She was born April 17, 1912 in Ogden, Utah the 10th child of Samuel James Hooper Pingree and Sarah Thomas Pingree. She was their last surviving child.

Her early life was spent in Ogden. She married William Henry Wordsworth Sanders Aug. 11, 1934. They were later divorced. She married Earschel "Jerry" Cross on April 17, 1963. In addition to living in Ogden, Marian resided in Layton, and Bountiful, Utah; Ontario, and Fountain Valley, California; and most recently in Redford, Michigan.

Marian loved music, and could play tunes on the piano after just hearing them. She enjoyed singing with her sisters, Maude Pike and Ruth Titley, and was a member of various singing groups at different times during her life. She was creative and enjoyed sewing for her family and working with ceramics.

She is survived by her three children, Nancy S. Checketts of Temecula, California; James A. Sanders of Palo Cedro, California; and LeGrande Sanders of Lathrup Village, Michigan; their spouses; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great great-granddaughter.

Her burial will be in Ogden City Cemetery.
