Gloria Dean Adkison, 76, of Alvaton died at 5:30 p.m. June 16, 2004, at a Bowling Green nursing home. The Edmonson County native was a retired employee of Leichardt Nursery, Ridley Nursery and Otte Nursery, a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a Kentucky Colonel. She was a daughter of the late Cecil Sanders and Marie Vincent Sanders. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Sanders; and two sisters, Rachael Sanders and Rusty Sanders.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Adkison; three sons, Harry Adkison and his wife, Jeannie, and Danny Adkison and his wife, Patsy, all of Alvaton, and Ricky Adkison and his wife, Tammy, of Clarksville, Ind.; five daughters, Patricia Cullen and her husband, John, and Jimmie Klokoc and her husband, Ronnie, all of Bowling Green, Debbie Harwood and her husband, Steve, of Plano, Karen Bullock and her husband. Vander, of Boyce and Lori Ann Adkison of Alvaton; a brother, Nickie Sanders of Chicago; two sisters, Bernice Noel of Phoenix and Jean Sanders of Chicago; eight grand-children; and eight great-grand-children.
