Birth: Nov. 13, 1872
Death: Dec. 5, 1945

Mrs. Jennie Bean Sanders, age 73 years, passed away at her residence in Scottsboro Wednesday night, December 5, 1945, at nine o’clock, following a short illness of paralysis.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at the Scottsboro Church of Christ with the minister, Brother Charles E. Cobb conducting. She had been a member of that church for 52 years. Interment with Scottsboro Funeral Home followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery in charge.
The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bettye S. Majors, of Scottsboro, one son, Nathan Sanders, of Scottsboro, one sister Mrs. Annie Davis of Corpus Christi, Texas, and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Sanders was born and reared near Stevenson and resided with her husband, the late Eli B. Sanders, at Hollywood until 31 years ago when the family moved to Scottsboro where she has since resided. Mr. Sanders died 16 years ago. For the last several years she had with her for constant companionship, her daughter, Mrs. Majors, and grandsons.
The deceased had truly lived a long and devoted Christian life, her faith being solid in the ways of her church and she was known as a kind and generous neighbor and friend. She had also known the tragic sorrow of losing her youngest son, Paul Sanders, who was killed in an automobile accident here several years ago, in addition to other sorrows which had beset her path. Yet in all these years she held steadfast that the will of God was the way to be accepted and followed and she made her daily life fit into that pattern with constant fidelity.
She will be missed by many friends and who knew and loved her and these friends join expressing sympathy to the sorrowing children and family.
One grandson, Ernest Lee Majors, of the Navy, reached her bedside before her death. Another grandson, Lt. Fred Sanders is overseas with the Army.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our neighbors and friends for the many acts of kindness and words of comfort during the illness and passing of our dear mother, sister and grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Bean Sanders. We will always remember you and hold you in our prayers.
