Florence Sample Cohoon, 96, of 1346 Northside Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Albemarle Hospital. She was born in Columbia, NC, the daughter of the late Robert Sample and the late Delia Roughton Sample White and was the widow of George Walton Cohoon. She was the former owner/operator of Cohoon Boarding Home and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include her sons, George W. Cohoon, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Elizabeth City, NC and Irving Cohoon and wife Gloria of Grandy, NC; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. Cohoon was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Ball.
A graveside service was held Friday, November 19, 2010 at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Bishop Adren Hughes officiating.
