"Mrs. Roy Hall Dies"
"Mrs. Roy Hall, 69, who had been in ill health for some time, passed away at the Decatur Co. hospital Monday night. Funeral servies will be held from the Stewart Funeral home this, Thursday afternoon, with burial in the Leon cemetery. She is survived by her husband, seven children, Burdette Hall, of Glidden, Mrs. Gladys DeLong of Osceola, Mrs. John McLain of Osceola, Ralph Hall of Tama, Neil Hall of Des Moines, Olin Hall of Sioux Falls, S. Dakota, fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her brother, Frank B. Sales of Van Wert. An obituary will be published in a later issue of the Journal-Reporter."

"Mrs. Mary E. Hall, daughter of Dora and Cass Sales, was born at Leon, Iowa, January 3, 1882, and departed this life in the Decatur County hospital in Leon on August 27, 1951, at the age of 69 years, 7 months, and 24 days.
At the age of seventeen she united with the Christian church in Leon, and remained a faithful member until her death.
She was united in marriage to Roy Hall August 10, 1902 and to this union were born five sons and three daughters, one of whom, Zula Maude, died in infancy in Tiban, New Mexico.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Roy Hall of Leon, Iowa; five sons and two daughters: Burdette Hall of Glidden, Iowa; Mrs. Gladys DeLong, and Mrs. Bess McLain both of Osceola, Iowa; Ralph Hall of Tama, Iowa; Neil Hall of Des Moines, Iowa; Robert Hall of Wapello, Iowa; and Olin Hall of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; fifteen grandchildren five great grandchildren; and one brother, Frank Sales of Van Wert, and three cousins Will Lindsey of Leon, Leslie Forgrave of Chicago, Dr. Paul Forgave of St. Josper, Mo. and Rev Frank Hoffman of northern Iowa.
Mrs. Hall was a good neighbor, a true friend, always at the call of those in need. She will be truly missed.
Funeral services were held at the Stewart Funeral Home Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev. Gentzler of the Christian church. Burial was in the Leon cemetery."
