Portsmouth, - Mary Eileen (Sailors) Barnhart, 89, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at John Clarke Health Care Center Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Sherman S. Barnhart.

Born in 1925 in Kokomo Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary P. Sailors. She was a graduate of Kokomo High School. Mary and Sherman had three sons. She is survived by Stephen Barnhart and his wife Sally of Concord, NC, and Paul D. Barnhart and his wife Kathy of N. Syracuse, NY; two grandchildren Erin Barnhart of N. Syracuse, and Bradley Barnhart of Concord. Her youngest son, Brian, passed away in 2012.

Eileen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newport, RI and was an avid seamstress and artist. She was a loving wife, mother and caregiver to her son Brian.

Calling hours will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.

Gravesides services will be Saturday, at 11:00am in Trinity Cemetery, East Main Road, Portsmouth.
