Retiring from her earthly presence at her home in Wallsburg surrounded by loving family, Reta Sabey Ford, 93, was born in Wallsburg to James Edgar and Jenette "Nettie" Davis Sabey.
She married Elmo A. Ford February 2, 1934. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple June 11, 1946. Together they ran a dairy farm and raised turkeys for many years. Honored citizens of Wallsburg, they owned Ford Mercantile for 37 years and enjoyed the association with everyone in town.
A great cook, she made many quilts, Afghans, and crocheted doilies for her children and grandchildren. Enjoying a good family picnic, she loved nature and outdoors.
Reta's children: Nelda Muir, Carolyn (Paul) Wilson; daughter-in-law Karma Ford; son: Howard (Diane) Ford; sister: Lila Robey; niece: Faye (Keith) Mecham; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 11 great great-grandchildren survive. Her husband Elmo (April 14, 1994) and brothers: LaVerl, Elmo, and Jack; sisters: Merle and Hazel; nephew: Allen Sabey; son: Harold; son-in-law: Bob Muir; grandsons: Chett Wilson, Travis Ford predeceased Reta.
